Several Central Florida programs are looking for volunteers.

These include:

SHINE Volunteers Needed – Orlando agency seeking retired professionals to assist clients with Medicare questions.  Volunteers may earn a stipend for helping clients apply for Extra Help with Medicare costs.    Training is provided.  For more information, call the Senior Resource Alliance at 407-514-1823.

Volunteers for Community Impact – offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers as it matches your personal interests and skills with opportunities to serve your community. This is a program of the Senior Corps, a division of the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association – Legal Aid Society is a non-profit organization that offers volunteer opportunities which include In-person Client Interviewing, Outreach Interviewing, and Phone Screening.  There is no experience needed.  We offer an orientation/overview meeting and training for all new volunteers.  The amount of time and availability of the volunteer will determine the range of opportunities for the volunteer.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida Thrift Store – Your skills are appreciated to assist with hanging clothing, sorting housewares, filling/decorating shelves, end caps and store displays.  Assistance is also needed to help cashiers bag merchandise.  Hours are flexible, whatever works with your schedule.  Located at 2054 State Rd 436, Winter Park, open 7 days a week.  Please contact Patti, 407-951-5449, to learn more about these opportunities.

 Orange County Regional History Center – a Central Florida Arts & Cultural museum seeking tour guide volunteers, available one morning per week, starting at 10:00 am.  History Center tours explore the Florida Aquifer, co-existing with wild animals, learn about Natives, Pioneers, cattle & citrus, transportation & tourists.  Volunteer benefits include: RSVP affiliation, invitations to volunteer events, 100 hour membership award, and more!
