There is an amazing new program being brought to you by the Alzheimer’s Association through a grant from the Winter Park Health Foundation. This free program called, Brain Up! was developed to help make you more conscientious about keeping your brain healthy for a lifetime. With this new program, we hope to: promote public understanding of brain health; raise awareness of how important it is to become brain healthy, and; inspire people of all ages and brain abilities to engage in and commit to a brain-healthy lifestyle.
By visiting the website at www.BrainUpFL.org and signing the Brainifesto, you will receive scientifically-based information, tips and alerts on how to promote your own brain health. Share this information with family and friends, through word-of-mouth and social media, and work with us on this mission to develop mightier minds across our community.
While the Brain Up! program developed a website to teach people how to take care of their brains, it does not stop there. Coming soon to the community will be free brain health seminars on a vast array of subjects. Learn how stress affects your brain functioning or how to prevent concussions. Find out about the differences between normal versus abnormal memory loss with age or immerse yourself in puzzles and activities that can improve your brain function. These are just some of the topics we can present at your place of business, community club, faith-based community or school. We are also on the hunt for brain health champions or individuals that we can profile on the Brain Up! website who can serve alongside our other living, breathing examples of excellent brain health role models. Look for the Brain Champion Nomination Form on the website.
