With the rapidly increasing numbers of senior citizens living in Florida, the number of individuals found wandering or in a confused state is also rising. One way to help law enforcement is for you to enroll your loved ones in the appropriate identification program, so they can be quickly and safely returned to you.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has a new tool for locating people with dementia, Alzheimer’s or autism, if they have wandered. This voluntary program allows caregivers to complete an application and provide key information about the enrollee. Each special needs bracelet has a unique number that is associated with a specific diagnosis of dementia, Alzheimer’s or autism.
