Falls continue to be a national public health concern, but falls do NOT have to be a given for older adults. In celebration of National Falls Prevention Awareness Week, the Center for Health & Wellbeing and the Senior Resource Alliance are joining forces to educate, empower and inspire older adults to minimize their risks for falls and maximize their future health, happiness and independence. Join us for a day of workshops and demonstrations, including a live Tai Chi session with internationally renowned Australian physician Dr. Paul Lam, director of Tai Chi for Health Institute and creator of a number of Tai Chi for Health programs that have improved the health and wellness of millions of people. The day’s activities will also include a nutrition lecture to help you use food as medicine, a Balance 101 workshop with Crosby Wellness Center and resources and information from local older adult service organizations. Breakfast and snacks will be provided throughout the day’s activities.
