Florida Senior Day is an excellent time to celebrate older Floridians. This year the event takes place at the State Capitol on April 15, marking its 15th year. Florida Senior Day was previously named Ambassadors for Aging Day.
With its new partner, United Way of Florida, the Department of Elder Affairs will host a series of events from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm. There will be a town hall meeting, where the Department of Elder Affairs and other state and aging network leaders will gather to answer Florida seniors’ questions and discuss issues most important to them. There will also be a complimentary Chick-fil-A lunch and a noon program where elected officials will address the crowd and host a media availability. Senior entertainment groups will perform throughout the day, and many exhibitors will be on site with helpful resources and free giveaways. There will also be free health screenings to promote the ongoing health and well-being of Florida seniors.
