Building Connection, Awareness, and Well‑Being in Our Community

Senior Resource Alliance (SRA), in partnership with Independent Living Systems (ILS) and Honey’s Mini Therapy Adventures, is proud to bring a unique, community-centered initiative designed to uplift individuals, reduce social isolation, and increase awareness of essential services available to seniors, caregivers, and adults with disabilities.
Through the healing presence of certified miniature therapy horses and meaningful community engagement, this partnership creates opportunities for connection, joy, and education, meeting people where they are and strengthening the continuum of care across Central Florida.

“We’re proud to partner with the Senior Resource Alliance in their mission to support older adults and caregivers. Their work strengthens our community and helps ensure individuals can live with dignity, independence, and the support they deserve.”

Our Partners

Senior Resource Alliance is dedicated to helping older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers live with independence and dignity. As the Area Agency on Aging and Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), SRA connects individuals to vital programs and community supports that promote safety, wellness, and informed choice.
Honey’s Mini Therapy Adventures is an equine-assisted therapeutic program featuring trained miniature horses that provide emotional comfort, sensory engagement, and positive social interaction. Visits are guided by certified handlers and tailored to the needs and abilities of each setting and population.
Independent Living Systems partners with community organizations to improve access to coordinated care and supportive services. ILS works to enhance quality of life through integrated solutions that address health, independence, and long-term needs.

A Program Designed to Uplift and Connect

Social isolation can significantly impact physical health, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life—especially for older adults, caregivers, and individuals living with disabilities. This collaborative initiative addresses those challenges by combining:
  • Evidence-informed equine-assisted therapy interactions
  • Outreach and education about aging and disability services
  • Community-based visits in familiar, accessible environments
Each visit offers participants a moment of calm, interaction, and comfort, while also connecting them with resources and support available through Senior Resource Alliance, the Area Agency on Aging for Central Florida.
  • Nonprofit organizations
  • Community and cultural centers
  • Senior centers
  • Assisted living facilities
  • Nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities
  • Hospitals and outpatient care centers
  • Adult day programs and therapeutic homes
Visits can be tailored for group sessions, individual interactions, special events, caregiver support programs, or educational outreach days.
  • Calm, friendly miniature therapy horses accompanied by trained handlers
  • Interactive, sensory-friendly engagement for participants
  • Educational materials about community resources and services
  • Trauma-informed, respectful, and inclusive interactions
  • Accommodations for mobility devices, sensory sensitivities, and communication needs
All visits prioritize participant dignity, safety, and accessibility.
This initiative is conducted with consideration for:
  • Physical accessibility and mobility needs
  • Cognitive and sensory processing differences
  • Clear, respectful communication
  • ADA-conscious program design
Our goal is to ensure every participant feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
